What’s on in 2026 – Art & Craft Events

2025 was a quiet year for me event-wise largely due to having a new kitchen and bathroom built.

This year, I’m getting out more!

Art Work Exeter are holding an Art Car Boot on June 28th from 10am to 2pm, at Piazza Terracina on Exeter Quayside. While it is their seventh event, it will be my very first time taking part, so I’m currently getting my head around what works best for a “car boot” style setup.

It promises to be a fantastic day out. The curated market offers a vibrant mix of art, crafts and culture – from paintings and prints to pots, things wearable, shareable and edible!

Opening times : 10am-2pm

Exeter Craft Festival

After taking a year off, I am delighted to be returning to the Exeter Craft Festival on the Cathedral Green. The festival has been a cornerstone of Exeter’s cultural calendar for over 50 years, celebrating the region’s finest creativity and craftsmanship. This year there will be over 120 exhibitors and I can be found at stand 27 – a wonderfully central spot! Map link…

List of Exeter Craft Festival Exhibitors is currently a work in Progress.

Alongside the incredible variety of arts and crafts on display, there will be plenty of free live entertainment and refreshments to keep the whole family happy.

Opening times : 10am-5:30pm

This major exhibition at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton celebrates 30 years of Double Elephant Print Workshop.

It’s exciting to be part of an exhibition designed to spotlight both the timeless traditions of printmaking and the innovative, experimental approaches shaping its future. The collection of work I submitted for selection features my most recent experiments with saline-salt-etched aluminium plates. I’m purposely developing techniques that place clear difference between this spontaneous, aggressive etch and the more traditional, controlled copperplate etching I am familiar with.

The exhibition also offers an opportunity for people to see the tools, papers, plates, and blocks that bring each process to life, providing a unique insight into a variety of printmaking methods.

There will be several workshops run by Double Elephant members, including a Drypoint and Chine Collé session with me on Wednesday 19th August, and a “Meet the Founders” session with Simon Ripley and me on Saturday 1st August.

Opening times : Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm. Free Admission, donations welcome.

Please note the shorter timeframe for Devon Open Studios this year. In effect 9 days of art rather than over 2 weeks. I am usually open for 8 days in that period and I’m doing so again this year by being open every day except the Wednesday which is my major admin day at Double Elephant.

All across Devon, painters, sculptors, printmakers, ceramicists, jewellers, textile artists and more open their doors to reveal the ideas, materials and processes behind their work. Personally, I love these opportunities to step behind the scenes and see how artists create and to be a bit nosey!

The event is completely free to attend, and visitors are encouraged to support local creativity by buying directly from artists, whether purchasing a major artwork or a small, meaningful piece.

Once again I shall be opening my small studio at home right in the heart of Exeter.

My opening times :

Saturday 12th – Tuesday 15th September: 10am – 5.30pm
Wednesday 16th September: CLOSED (Admin Day)
Thursday 17th September: 10am – 6.00pm (Late opening)
Friday 18th – Sunday 20th September: 10am – 5.30pm

Perfectly timed for Christmas shopping, I will be taking part in the Artisan Craft Fair at Alphington village hall. This is another lovely one that I have only done a couple of times before. The challenge for me is to have a bit of staging that can pop-up in an otherwise tabletop situation, that can then be small enough to stow away in my small studio. This is a fair way off yet and at the time of writing this the website has yet to be updated. This is still a fair way off, and at the time of writing, their website hasn’t been fully updated for the current season yet. However, you can still check the Artisan Craft Fair Website for directions and to see a few previous exhibitors….

Opening times : 10am-5pm

I have been invited to take part in this extended project honouring the richness, history and mythology of Dartmoor. Led by Douglas Anderson and Jason Ewing, the project spans 2026–2028, and I will be contributing to both the book and the exhibitions planned for 2027. The deadline to create the finished artwork is this November—so expect to hear much more about this later!
