RAMM Friends Art Auction.

RAMM Friends Art Auction.

Weds 19th March 6.30 – 9pm

I have been asked to donate a bit of artwork for The Royal Albert Memorial Museum so that they can raise some funds to purchase a portrait by Sir Joshua Reynolds. The portrait is of Devon born artist, Francis Hayman (1707 – 1776) who was a founder of the Royal Academy.

Realising that this is probably the easiest way for me to get to exhibit in one of the shiny new galleries at Exeter’s award winning museum I have decided to say yes!

The evening of the auction starts with a reception and music from Jazz Trio Douce Ambiance followed by the auction at 7.30pm conducted by accutane Hampton & Littlewood’s website” href=”” target=”_blank”>Bearnes, Hampton & Littlewood  The artworks have been donated by many local artists and can be viewed beforehand online and in Gallery 20 on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 March, 10am to 5pm.

I am donating a framed “Vanishing Bees” etching. Float mounted in its Ash wood frame the usual gallery price for this is £150. Who knows – there’s a chance for someone to pick up a bargain(?)

Book your tickets here online or from the museum reception in person or by phone using a credit or debit card on 01392 265858 during opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.

Through my artwork I look to say something about the environment - explore how we interact, use, abuse and collaborate with the natural world around us. This has taken me to increasingly focus on the small ubiquitous and often reviled weeds and bugs that form the foundation and engine-room of ecosystems. I use a wide range of printmaking techniques – both traditional and innovative, often creating complex one off prints. ****** Co-founder and director of Double Elephant Print Workshop since 1997.
