Did you miss getting Newsletter number 5 in October?
Friday the 8th of November dawned with me and my lovely assistant loading up the car with a big stash of framed artwork and oodles of unframed work. With an improvised little table, a browser and a small step ladder there was only room then for one overnight bag between the two of us. (more…)
International Printmaking Conference & Print Festival Scotland took place in Dundee 28th August – 1st September 2013
I was very lucky to be sent by Double Elephant Print Workshop to Dundee for IMPACT8 with my colleague Simon Ripley and our collaborator Josh Gaunt from Workshops n’ Docs. (more…)
This is a novelty for me!
Never been blogged about before. It’s very interesting to read how someone you’ve never met interprets your work. Ian Knight has done a good job understanding what I’ve been trying to do all these years and I’ve had no quibbles with what he’s had to say. The Technical aspects are correct too!
Check out his Blog.
When the staff at the Devon Guild of Craftsmen’s shop at Bovey Tracey asked if I could contribute some work to a themed display
they are calling Botanical Discoveries, I decided to discover the importance of Nettles. We all love butterflies but most of us hate caterpillars and we’re not exactly fond of nettles. And if we don’t allow space for the nettles, there will be no caterpillars to transform into some of our most loved butterflies.
I love open studio events.
For Exeter Open Studios 2013, my studio is venue 25 at 46 Heavitree Road, Exeter, EX1 2LQ.
I’m open for Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th March – 11am to 6pm. There are a couple of special items that are only available during open studio events. I would love it if you could come during Exeter Open Studios which is happening in March for the very first time. But do remember that studio visits can be arranged at other times if you can’t make it this time.
It undeniably a lot of work knocking my studio into shape, but I think it’s worth it. Take a look here for a fun VIDEO!

Excited to be invited to help launch a new gallery space in Exeter.
The space is to be found in the Centre for Creative Industries building at Exeter College just off Queen Street. Very happy to be invited to show with some top class artists.
There was a great atmospere at the launch with music and canapés provided by the students. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised that the canapés were so good at the gallery launch at Exeter College when Michael Caines is one of the governors. Well done to the young people studying hospitality and catering.
A major event in 2012 was the creation of some demonstration videos with Double Elephant Print Workshop.
You can see them all HERE!
I did the demonstration for the Collagraph video. It took a WHOLE DAY! In true Blue Peter style I had prepared my project at various stages in its development so that I didn’t have to waste time waiting for paint to dry.
You can see a proof being pulled from the finished plate in the video. And here is one of the finished prints I made shortly after – when I had time to fuss about colours and add mono print plant material too.
To go with the Collagraph video is another short one of “Top Tops”.
Do take time to look at my colleagues videos for drypoint, mono print and relief print too.
