Working Process 2

Making the Devon Hedge Bank prints.

My studies of Devon hedgerows started in 2011. The big launch for this work was an exhibition I curated at Red Earth gallery in Bickleigh to coincide with Devon Hedge Week.

On my old website I had a “Work in Progress” gallery. So that this content can still be available I am reposting some of sequenses of photographs that showed my working process here – as rather “old News”.

Here I am offering glimpses of work in progress for 30,000 miles – Art exhibition.

It contains info about four places I’m exhibiting in over the next couple of months. Plus an update for Double Elephant’s Redefining Print project, and a very brief Etsy update.

IF the Newsletter is not in your in box and you would like the next one to be, there’s a signing up box just to your left. I only do a few newsletters a year……

Members were invited to use the title Celebrate to articulate the notions of festivity and reflection that such milestones bring. I wanted to produce some work specifically for this exhibition while creating something in keeping with my own body of work about Devon ecosystems, hedgerows etc. Read More

Sistema de Ensino Poliedro – Brazil

In March 2014 I got an unexpected email from Departamento de Licenciamento

Sistema de Ensino Poliedro – Brazil.

Eh?

According to Google Translate that is –

Department of Licensing
System Poliedro Education

Turns out this is a publisher for a network of 120 schools “committed to high-quality education” and apparently they wanted to publishing a schoolbook and illustrate it with the images they had found on my website. Read More

Studies for Urban Bees: Working Together

The third Devon Guild member taking part in this project I would like to introduce you to is Helen Edwards. Based in South Devon, Helen uses her skills in ceramics, metals and textiles to construct intricate and unique Mixed Media artwork with visual and tactile appeal. Photography, printing and etching, stitching, weaving and dyeing are some of the many processes Helen uses to give her work its characteristic texture, pattern and colour. Read More
